Evergreen Terrace drummer Kyle Mims was injured in a bike accident after practice. The band had this to say:
"After yesterday's practice Kyle (drummer) was in a horrific bike accident. He was rushed to the emergency room and released late last night full of stitches and a broken clavicle (collar bone). Unfortunately he will have to have surgery and physical therapy for the next 4-8 weeks. So for obvious reasons he will not be with us on our upcoming headlining shows or the Summer Slob tour with The Acacia Strain. Please wish Kyle a quick recovery. He's pretty bummed out. Caleb James, our long time roadie and drummer for Casey Jones ,will be taking over drum duties for now. Check out all dates on our myspace."

Sleeping Giant recently met up with Andy Dick in the LAX Airport resulting in an interview of sorts. Sleeping Giant will be releasing it's latest album on June23, 2009 via Facedown Records. You can pre-order "Sons Of Thunder" HERE .

You're an unsigned band playing a local show and someone approaches you claiming to represent Nuclear Blast or Metal Blade Records . They say they want to sign you, book studio time for your band, buy you plane tickets, or even put you on Ozzfest, yet no contracts are ever involved. Sound too good to be true? That's because it is.
There's been a rash of imposters in several states claiming all of the above and more. Some try to extort money from bands by claiming they need it to place a deposit on whatever it is they're promising. Others want free entry into a show, free CDs & band merchandise, or backstage access. Whatever the case, what's clear is that these imposters have such low-self esteem that they're willing to lie about who they are.
Bands, DO NOT LET YOUR HOPES OF GETTING SIGNED BLINDSIDE YOU. Staff members at Nuclear Blast and Metal Blade:
• conduct official business via their official office e-mail & telephone number. • can produce a business card with the label's logo, official office address, and official telephone number. • NEVER ask unsigned bands for "deposit" money. Nuclear Blast and Metal Blade Records wish to keep their reputations among metal fans & metal musicians in good standing, as we understand how hard bands work to bring their music to the metal community. These imposters are mocking everything we stand for as independent metal labels, as musicians, and as fans.
If ANYONE approaches your band claiming to be from a label and asks for money, for free entry into a show, free CDs or merchandise, or backstage access, your FIRST response should be to be skeptical.
Call the label asking to verify staff names and positions. Or, take your photo with the imposter/impersonator and send it to the label's general e-mail address to inform them of what they are promising.

The new video for Whitechapel's , Eternal Refuge, will go live on Mayhemfest.com on June 8th! The live video was filmed during their tour with Suffocation at the Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY.
Guitarist, Alex Wade, comments on the video: "Hey, it's Alex from Whitechapel. Here is the debut of our new music video for "Eternal Refuge" off of our album, This Is Exile. It was directed by Andrew from Abstrakt Pictures at the Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, NY when we were on the Blood Apocalypse Tour with Suffocation. Brooklyn, NY”s TOMBSare half-way through their U.S. tour with ISIS as part of their “Wavering Radiant” tour. This tour kicked-off in San Diego, CA and is currently working its way up along the east coast. A listing of confirmed tour dates and cities can be found below.
Additionally, TOMBS have recently teamed up with independent merchandise company Shirts & Destroy for exclusive shirt designs, signed poster prints, and more. The new TOMBS merch store can be viewed here. Shirts & Destroy will also be printing a very limited edition tour shirt for the two TOMBS, ISIS, and PELICAN shows next week in Massachusetts.
